Reliable Emergency Lighting & Electrical Maintenance in the GTA
Emergency and exit lighting are critical elements for a safe escape in case of an emergency. These fixtures illuminate the way toward the means of egress during power outages. National safety codes require emergency lighting to be provided in the event of the failure of normal lighting. Canadian Industrial Fire Protection Co Inc offers you emergency lighting and electrical maintenance services in the GTA. We ensure your company is code-compliant and prepared for emergencies.
Code-compliance Requires Monthly and Annual Testing
Any loss resulting from a bulb failure or unit malfunction is too high a price to pay. Canadian Industrial Fire Protection Co Inc offers tests and inspections to keep your emergency lighting systems code-compliant and ready to function when needed. Emergency and exit lighting equipment with battery backup is required to be inspected on a monthly basis for not less than 30 seconds, and a 30-minute full-function test is required on an annual basis per NFPA standards. Only safe practices and policies supported by the NFPA standard are used when testing and inspecting your equipment.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) States the Following:
A functional test shall be conducted on every required emergency lighting system at 30-day intervals for not less than 30 seconds. An annual test shall be conducted on every required battery-powered emergency lighting system. Equipment shall be fully operational for the duration of the test. Written records of visual inspections and tests shall be kept by the owner for inspection by the authority having jurisdiction.
